But, which are the best ski areas to visit with children? We’ve got lots of proposals and any opportunity is a good excuse to spend a weekend full of games, adventures and nature with the family.
At the Aragonese Pyrenees, the ski resorts of Formigal or Candanchú have facilities and specific areas for children. From the Snow garden of Formigal, where they will interact with the snow for the first time and they can visit an igloo, to Candanchulandia, the children’s area of Candanchú.
For those who prefer skiing in Catalonia, Baqueira Beret and Boí Taüll are the ski resorts designed for the whole family. Baqueira Beret has four playgrounds and in the Snow garden of Boí Taüll the monitors will ensure that your children have a great time.
The ski resort of Sierra Nevada, in the Penibetic System, has a themed area for the whole family, the El Mar slope. There, they will have the opportunity to say hello to the animals of the forest and mountains or start safely in the freestyle, always advised by professionals.
In the Iberian System, both Valdezcaray and Javalambre are good options to go skiing with children. In both ski resorts, the kids can play and discover gently the snow and experience their first descents.
If you are close to Madrid, it’s worth going a bit further and get to La Pinilla, in Segovia. It’s a ski resort with a children’s school where your kids will be kindly received.
Finally, if you usually move between Spain and France, Andorra is a good choice to go skiing with the family. In Grandvalira, one of the main ski resorts, you can find the Imaginarium program; it’s specific for children.
